Knights Templar of the Philippines

There are 3 Priories covering the Nation and the Priories have Commanderies in them and Preceptors.

A Priory is a Region of Templars. They have different Commandaries all over the region. and the Commandary may have a Preceptor may soon grow as another Commandery.

Each Priory has its own leadership and structured Prior, Knight Commander, Secretary, Treasurer all the was to Newly accepted Initiates. The structure provides for a natural progression and roadmap to Noble Knighthood. 

These are the ranks in ascending order.

• Page (PG) – A young man or woman, greater than 10 years of age but fewer than 14. A future Knight. At the age of 18, they will have the opportunity to petition to become a “Companion-at-Arms.”

• Squire (SQ) – A young man or woman, older than 14 years of age but fewer than 18. A future Knight. At the age of 18, they will have the opportunity to petition to become a “Companion-at-Arms.”

• Initiates (IN) – a person who has been initiated into an organization or activity, typically recently.  A future Knight.  They will have the opportunity to petition to become a “Companion-at-Arms.”

• Companion-At-Arms (CAA) – An applicant of at least 18 years of age. They are under a probation period of 6 months before moving to Sergeant. If the Prior accepts them, they receive their Certificate at the end of this period.

• Sergeant-At-Arms (SAA) – Sergeants are required to complete the Templar Academy Sergeants Training. After the initial 6-month probation period expires, all accepted members become eligible for promotion from Sergeant to Knight Aspirants (KA). A member will need to spend no less than 6 months as a Sergeant.

• Knight Aspirant (KA) – after SAA, a rank for a promising trainee, typically a senior Sergeants are required to complete the Templar Academy Training and Quest. After the initial 2-month probation period expires, all accepted members become eligible for promotion from KA to Knight (KTJ). A member will need to spend no less than 2 months as a Knight Aspirant.

• Knight (KTJ) – Membership in the PGCKT does not convey the “Royal” right to the title “Sir”, however, it is appropriate and in keeping with Customs to address Male Knights as Sir and Female Knights as Dame. Those males who reach Knighthood in are termed “Knight” with the honorific title being Chevalier, and females are termed “Dames” OR “Knight” with the honorific title of Chevalier (or Chevalière).

• Knight Commander (KCTJ) – A Knight who is given a Commandery consisting of at a least 4 knights besides the Commander (total of 5).

• Knight Officer (KOTJ) – This rank is reserved for Officers within the Priory Level or Regional of the Philippines and is granted at the discretion of the Grand Prior endorsement of a Prior or members of the Council.

• Knight Grand Officer (GOTJ) – This rank is reserved for Priors or Master Knight Commander positions within the Priory/Commanderies of the Philippines and is granted at the discretion of the Grand Prior.

• Knight Grand Cross (GCTJ).  This is the highest rank a knight can achieve. It’s granted when an individual has demonstrated commitment, loyalty and accomplishments that go well beyond normal expectations. Granted only by the Grand Prior. Either achieve by Positions held or by completing the 24 Virtues Quest.

• Prior (PTJ) – A Prior oversees a group and has the privileged to invest a knight as he see him or her fit to be one.

• Provost Emeritus (PVEMTJ) – A Prior Position who decides to retire but who wants to remain available for national assignments.

• Temple (Templar Emeritus Members of Priors League Exemplaris) – A past Grand Prior who is a keeper and has the rights of Emeritus and continue the Grand Priory should the need arise until a new Grand Prior is worthy to serve the Grand Priory of the Philippines.
